If today there is only one true and authentic Disc Jockey left (in the meaning of the one who "literally mounts on a disc" like others mount on a horse) it is just him. Fascinated for years with vinyl records as objects, Christian Marclay started with using them in installations, trampling them, cutting them out, sticking them on walls, before thinking of them as a regular mean of making sounds. Marclay is working preferably in duos, on High Noon with the guitarist Eliott Sharp, and has collaborated with many living musical personalities (Müller, Zorn, Frith, Michihiro, Moss), but also with long gone people, via his turntables!
