Brigitte Fontaine

Like Pierre Henry, Brigitte Fontaine is part of these french artists quickly buried by the forgetful journalists, and then born again with a younger generation that refreshed the memory of the preceding one. After she started singing texts by Boris Vian, she works with Jacques Higelin thanks to whom she met Areski Belkacem, a musician from Kabyli (Algeria), who still is today his partner and entitled composer. Comme à la radio is a 1969 album (one year after her very first Brigitte Fontaine est folle) recorded with Art Ensemble of Chicago, the mythical avant-garde jazz formation from the US. The 4 CD from that time all deals with a good amount of ingeniousness, experimentation and originality that even led Brigitte Fontaine to perform in Japan where she since meets a genuine interest.
