Bombay Sisters

Specialists in the carnatic repertory (South India), the Bombay Sisters sing here in unison as in the devotional Hindu songs and a capela (only accompanied by an electronic drone as a tampura) peices dedicated to the Suprabhaatham divinity. Their voice, literally duplicated, makes nevertheless only one. They sing with a perfect tempo and synchronization, playing with harmonics, which gives a metallic and vibrant feeling, majestic and unstoppable. This recording has the characteristic to be the first devoted to this divinity sung in tamil, whereas references to Suprabhaatham are usually written in Sanskrit.
